Do Patti: Kriti Sanon auditioned with 10 actors before selecting Shaheer Sheikh

Writer Kanika Dhillon shared a behind-the-scenes story about the casting process of her upcoming film Do Patti. At the trailer launch of the film, she revealed how, when auditioning for the role of the male protagonist, Kriti Sanon personally auditioned with the final 10 candidates to find the perfect fit. Actor Shaheer Sheikh ultimately secured the role.
Kanika recollected, “Kriti was like, ‘For the last ten rounds, I wanted to audition with ten people.’ And those last 10 people left, Kriti herself went and auditioned with each of those 10 candidates, did that scene over and over. Half of them were nervous because Kriti herself was auditioning them!”
Responding to Kanika’s comments, Kriti said, “To be honest, I think it was so important to find the current Dhruv. You know, because again, the character has so many layers. And the chemistry has to work in a certain way. So, I was glad that we did the audition. I think while I was doing the audition only with him, I felt in my head when we were seeing that the chemistry was working, also the shades of group that he has. I think he was pulling it off so well.”

Starring Kajol, Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh in important roles, Do Patti is a mystery thriller set in the backdrop of a hill station. The catch in the story is Kriti playing a double role as twin sisters.

Do Patti is directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi, and written by Kanika Dhillon. Also starring Tanvi Azmi and Brijendra Kala in important roles, it is Kriti’s maiden production and is slated to stream online from October 25.
